In this picture, people are trying to leave, parents are holding on to their children, but they cant leave. They are trying to be held in such a dark, horrible place, but on the other hand, where they are trying to go is basically paradise. People are with their children trying to protect them, but the kids are just being hurt. The guy could be represent the government, and the glasses cover him from seeing what is really going on with these people.

A woman who was a survivor of domestic violence, was running away from her husband. She was then separated from her daughter when they arrived at the border. Her daughter was born here in the U.S but as an infant, the whole family moved to the Guatemala. Carrillo (mother) applied for asylum, but it was denied because the Trump Administration believes that domestic violence isn't a solid reason for refuge. When Carrillo tried to come back to the United States seeking help, Carrillo's daughter was taken from her and put into a foster home and Carrillo was sent to a detention center. Earlier in the year, the Trump Administration were separating families at the border, but agreed to stop that, and hold the families in the facilitates together. On the other hand, it is against the law to hold a U.S citizen in those facilities. Carrillo hasn't seen her daughter since they were separated in May and now she could very much lose custody of her daughter as she is appealing a deportation order. If Carrillo was to be sent back to Guatemala, the U.S would be concerned that the domestic violence is an unsafe environment for Yeisvi (daughter) and Carrillo would have to leave the country without her daughter, and lose her parental rights.
